*Fiori delle Aiuole* was shot in Poland in 2018, in Ścinawka, a small village by the Czech Republic borders.
The 2018 summer will remain known for the exceptional heatwave and subsequent drought that raged throughout Poland and the rest of Northern Europe.
The flowers collected in these images find themselves at their second blooming of the season, most of the times they are already overblown or burnt by the scorching heat.
Summer in a small village may be muggy and dull and the flowers cultivated in these home gardens became the main attraction of the countryside walks.
The title of the project is brutally pleonastic in stating the obvious, a rose is a rose, yet for that very reason it serves a derailment away from the paved road in the pursue of a floreal world made out of melancholic beauty.
This allows us to peek into the lyricism between the ungrammatical lines, the grandiosity of the failure, the endearment of the ungainly, the grace of the withering.
